Empathic was created from a simple, powerful belief: Stories that come from emotional truth are the ones that stay with us.
We tell stories that spiral beneath the surface. Tales that might seem simple at first, but reveal complexity if you stay with them. Like life, they don’t always move in straight lines. They circle back, open slowly, and invite you to feel something real.
Whether grounded in realism or drawn from imagination, each story we tell asks bold questions and challenges assumptions. We want to make you feel deeply and maybe even see something a little bit differently than you did before.
Founded by writer and actor Marie Cooper, Empathic brings together original work for stage, screen, and page. This is a creative space for work that provokes thought, awakens feeling, and stands courageously for complexity in a world hungry for simplicity.
We don’t flinch from emotion.

We write to provoke discussion and explore.
We are all stories. We are all spirals.
And the ones that matter most rarely reveal themselves all at once.
From the Founder
I created Empathic as a home for the kind of stories I need to tell. The ones that ask questions, sit with discomfort, and tell the truth even (and especially) when it’s messy.
I write to try to make sense of things from the past and the present. To explore what’s hidden, or beautiful, or that I cannot easily explain. I don’t have neat answers. I’m not trying to give them.
I’m building a creative life through words and performance. My stories have placed in competitions and I’m developing work across fiction and theater. Empathic is part of that journey. It’s where I build, play and talk about the work that matters to me.
